About AZ Pool Advisor

AZ Pool Advisor is an Arizona-focused website built to help pool owners find local pool companies, learn more about pool ownership, and access practical information about pool service, cleaning, maintenance, repairs, equipment, water care, and safety.

I created AZ Pool Advisor from the ground up, handling the website design, development, content structure, search engine optimization, local company directory, custom functionality, and ongoing expansion of the platform.

The goal was never to build a traditional pool company website. AZ Pool Advisor needed to function as an independent resource where Arizona homeowners could research pool-related topics and connect directly with local professionals when they needed help.

Building an Arizona Pool Resource

One of the biggest challenges with AZ Pool Advisor was organizing a large amount of information without making the website difficult to navigate. Pool owners may arrive looking for a company, trying to diagnose a water problem, comparing equipment, researching a repair, or simply learning how to properly maintain their pool.

I structured the website around those different needs. Instead of relying on a handful of general pages, the site contains dedicated sections for pool services, educational guides, local companies, Arizona cities, pool equipment, maintenance topics, repairs, water problems, safety information, and other areas of pool ownership.

This structure allows AZ Pool Advisor to continue growing while keeping related information connected and easy to find.

Creating the Local Pool Company Directory

A major part of the project is the local pool company directory. I wanted homeowners to be able to discover Arizona pool professionals without turning the website into another generic directory filled with basic business listings.

Companies can have dedicated profiles containing useful information about their business, services, service areas, and ways to contact them. Visitors can call a company, send a text message, visit its website, request an estimate, or visit its Google Business Profile for additional reviews, photos, and directions.

I also developed custom functionality behind the directory to help manage company information and measure visitor engagement with individual businesses.

Developing Custom Website Features

AZ Pool Advisor required functionality that wasn’t available through a standard WordPress website. As the project developed, I built custom features specifically around how visitors interact with the platform.

This includes systems for managing pool company profiles, organizing companies by location and service, tracking visitor interactions, displaying company rankings, managing special offers, and providing reporting information.

I also created interactive resources such as the pool test strip analyzer, which gives homeowners another reason to use the website beyond simply reading articles or searching for a company.

Building the Website Around Content

Content is at the center of AZ Pool Advisor. The website includes articles and guides covering real questions Arizona pool owners have about maintaining and operating their pools.

Topics range from chlorine and filtration to algae, pool draining, equipment comparisons, repairs, safety, cleaning, maintenance, and the effects Arizona’s extreme climate can have on swimming pools.

Rather than publishing unrelated blog posts, I organize content into larger topic areas. Individual articles support broader subject pages, giving visitors multiple ways to explore related information while creating a more organized website structure.

Search Engine Optimization

SEO has been part of AZ Pool Advisor since the early stages of development. I designed the site’s structure around the way people actually search for pool information, services, and companies in Arizona.

That includes dedicated content for specific pool topics as well as location-focused pages for communities throughout Arizona. Articles, service pages, city pages, company profiles, and topic pages are interconnected so search engines and visitors can better understand how the information relates.

Instead of treating SEO as a one-time task, I continue refining the structure as the website grows and as I learn more about the searches bringing visitors to the site.

Expanding Beyond the Website

AZ Pool Advisor has continued to evolve beyond its original website concept. The project has expanded into original videos, company reviews, interactive tools, special offers, and publishing initiatives designed specifically around Arizona’s pool industry.

Each new feature is designed to support the same basic purpose: provide useful information to Arizona pool owners while creating meaningful exposure for local pool professionals.

An Ongoing Web Development Project

AZ Pool Advisor is one of my ongoing projects, which means I continue designing, developing, testing, and expanding the platform as new ideas emerge.

That’s also what makes this project a good example of how I approach website development. Building the initial website is only one part of the process. The larger opportunity comes from creating a platform that can evolve as its audience, content, and purpose grow.
